Pochodzący z Izraela, Emil Ilyayev powołał do istnienia projekt Zero Cult w 2003 roku. Od tego czasu wkładał wiele wysiłku, żeby stworzyć niepowtarzalny i wyrazisty styl, który od pierwszych sekund byłby kojarzony tylko i wyłącznie z jego brzmieniem. W 2006 roku za sprawą Cosmicleaf Records i jej założyciela (Nick’a Miamis’a), zaprzyjaźnionego z Emilem, udało się wydać pierwszy solowy album w dorobku Izraelczyka – mowa oczywiście o płycie Art Of Harmony. Zero Cult pozostał pod skrzydłami Cosmicleaf Records i w ciągu kolejnych lat pod szyldem tej wytwórni ukazywały się następne chilloutowe albumy: Ikebana (2007), Dreams In Stereo (2009) oraz Clouds Garden (2010). Rok 2010 był dla Emila bardzo pracowity – oprócz wspomnianego albumu Clouds Garden, zaprezentował nam kolejną odsłonę swoich muzycznych umiejętności w postaci płyty Where Rivers Have No Name, która ku zaskoczeniu wyszedł spod skrzydeł innej wytwórni – Chillcode Music. Muzykę projektu Zero Cult w skrócie można zaklasyfikować jako mieszankę downtempo, ambientu, a także elementów progresywnych.

Dzisiaj prezentujemy Wam wywiad, jakiego udzielił nam Emil Ilyayev w 2010 roku, jeszcze zanim ukazały się jego dwa nowe albumy – Clouds Garden oraz Where Rivers Have No Name. Zachęcamy do poznania sylwetki bardzo skromnego (w naszym odczuciu) artysty, który w bardzo szczery sposób przedstawia trochę inny punkt widzenia na obecną muzykę chilloutową i jej losy.

Emil Ilyayev, coming from Israel has founded the Zero Cult Project project in 2003. Since then he put a lot of effort in order to create a unique and expressive style which for the first seconds would be matched up exclusively with his sound. In 2006, thanks to Cosmicleaf Records and its founder (Nick Miamis), a friend of Emil, he managed to release the first solo album in his achievements – of course, we mention the album Art Of Harmony. Zero Cult remained under the wings of Cosmicleaf Records and during subsequent years under the name of this label have appeared the next chillout albums: Ikebana (2007), Dreams In Stereo (2009) and Clouds Garden (2010). The year 2010 was very busy for Emil – in addition to the album Clouds Garden, he has presented us an another installment of his musical skills in a form of a plate Where Rivers Have No Name, which (as a surprise) came from the wings of different label – Chillcode Music. In a nutshell, the music of Zero Cult project can be classified as a blend of downtempo, ambient and some progressive elements.

Today we present you an interview that Emil Ilyayev has given us in 2010, just before his two new albums have been released – Clouds Garden and Where Rivers Have No Name. We invite you to get to know a very modest (in our opinion) artist, who in a very sincere way represents a slightly different perspective on the current chillout music and its fate.
